13 UFGI Faculty Present at ScienceWriters 2013

The National Association of Science Writers and Council for the Advancement of Science Writing annual ScienceWriters meeting will be held this weekend on the University of Florida campus. The UF Genetics Institute (UFGI) would like to recognize the many faculty who will be presenting their work to the 400 plus science journalists and writers in attendance. The Science Writers conference attracts science communicators from across the country and globe for workshops, briefings on scientific discovery, networking, and first-hand experiences on the UF campus.

The UFGI is proud to have such a vast array of disciplines and expertise among our faculty members.

The UF Genetics Institute is an interdisciplinary membership organization that seeks to promote excellence in the areas of genetics and genomics at the University of Florida. The UFGI consists of 231 faculty members from 49 departments and seven colleges across campus, such as the College of Medicine, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the College of Engineering. Collectively, UFGI faculty represent $140 million in sponsored research funding each year and over 900 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
